Boys’ Indoor Track Team won their second consecutive MIAA Division 4 State Championship. It was a terrific team effort, with the team behind almost all the way but pulling out a 4-point win over Northampton by scoring in each of the final three relays including a victory in the final event of the meet (the 4 x 400 relay).
Ramin Kiani led off that relay and Connor Lehman ran the 3rd leg and they combined with Nathaniel Luu and Peter Diebold to bring home the win. Earlier, Sam Hubbard and Nate Lathrop, each of whom had been out with injuries over the past several weeks, returned to the track to open the 4×800 relay with strong opening legs, then Robbie Mosher (doubling back one event after competing in the 2 mile) and sophomore Gregoire Marsot finished up to bring home vital points. Nick Dahl won the shot put on his final throw, breaking the 50-foot barrier for the first time, a huge win that closed the gap with Northampton. Peter Diebold, won the 600 and as mentioned anchored the winning 4 x 400. All ten athletes who competed medalled (top eight) in at least one event and all scored points toward the team total.
