WE DID IT! Our Fall Sports Season was a success and it’s due to our student-athletes, coaches and families who all adhered to the many policies and protocols put in place due to Covid. Weston was one of only 3 schools within the 11 school Dual County League that completed their seasons without any athletic shutdowns. I am so proud of every student-athlete, coach and family member who was a part of this fall athletic season. It certainly was a very different season than what we have all become accustom to and one that was very difficult to navigate through for us all. We all did what needed to be done to ensure our student-athletes were able to participate in the fall sports that were offered.
Our teams were outstanding! We were able to win DCL Small Championships in 3 of the 6 sports that competed with a runner-up and two 3rd place finishes as well. A special thanks to our trainer Andrew Rizza, our Covid Coach Colleen Lanata who was responsible for all Covid policies and procedures being adhered to by student-athletes, coaches, officials and spectators and Michelle Rizza our school nurse for her help along the way with the many questions that came up during the season. It was an incredibly challenging season, but one of the most rewarding in that our students were once again back on the fields and course representing our great town.
Thank you for all your continued support of Weston Athletics. It is more appreciated then you realize.
Winter Season is right around the corner. Once information becomes available, I will inform all of how our next season will look. I do not anticipate any definite information until next Friday 11/20 at the earliest.
As always, please feel free to reach out if I can answer any questions or be of any help.
