We are the Animal Care Club. We have fundraisers to help out animal shelters and support causes for animal awareness.

Animal Care Club members have worked to advance animal welfare and to support local shelters over the course of the past year. Last fall, we collected signatures and raised awareness in support of Question 3, a ballot initiative that banned the use of the harshest animal confinement methods in Massachusetts and also banned sale of eggs and meat from animals raised in those harsh conditions outside Massachusetts. This ballot initiative was approved by voters on November 8, 2016. In early winter, members organized a raffle and donation drive at Pet Supplies Plus in Waltham. After coordinating with the pet store, club members spent eight hours in the store soliciting donations and selling raffle tickets for a basket of pet goods donated by Pet Supplies Plus. Shoppers donated supplies such as food and toys, and our raffle raised over $200. Students brought the money and the supplies to Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury. This fall, club members organized a baking initiative to support another local shelter. We solicited orders for a variety of baked goods, spent a weekend baking, and delivered cupcakes, muffins, cookies, brownies, cake pops, and rice krispie treats to students, faculty, and staff on the following Monday. Through our sale of baked goods, we raised over $300 for Sterling Animal Shelter. We are currently planning another raffle and donation drive.
