What’s New?
Club Highlights:
End of Last Year
Art Project: We turned an old bathroom cabinet into a Roman Lararium (household shrine). Students designed it on their own and used the art room to paint.
Beginning of This Year
Fundraising Project: This year, Latin club ran its first fundraiser. We decided to raise money for Puerto Rico (https://www.unidosporpuertorico.com/en/) because Mr. Yegros from the World Language Dept is from Puerto Rico. Additionally, one of our Latin club members has family there. Students made candy bags to sell that included famous Latin phrases inside.
The picture to the right is a sticker that was designed by a Latin club officer to be on the outside of the candy bags that we sold.
SPQR stands for “Senatus Populusque Romanus”- The Senate and the Roman People.
