Mission

Stockyard is a club organized to familiarize students with the world of retailing and the concepts of the stock market. Each fall, a new corporation is formed by students who elect officers and invest their own money by purchasing shares of stock. They contact various vendors and decide what products they wish to sell. Success or failure depends on the effort and commitment of the group and their marketing skills. At the end of each year, profits are distributed to the shareholders in the form of dividends
The store operates like a corporation.
Your purchase of $20 per share finances the food and clothing to be sold in the store and
your help working in the store during a free or study block
entitle you to a share of the profits at the end of the year.
The store will be open during 2nd, 4th and 5th blocks.
Applications are available on the door to Mr. Guerra’s office (Room 42).
Please see him if you have any questions.
Once the schedule has been created he will train you on operating the store.
