To produce four shows per year: two plays, one musical and an evening of student-directed work. Students are encouraged to participate in Theater Company activities by auditioning as performers or by contributing as backstage workers. Rehearsals and stage sessions take place after school and on weekends. The group also sponsors workshops, field trips to local theaters and elsewhere, presentations of student-written work as well as participation in the Boston Shakespeare Competition the Mass Youth Playwrights Project and the Massachusetts High School Drama Festival.

About Our Director 

Mrs. Anne Isaacs a WHS graduate of the class of 2004, is thrilled to return to Weston High in the role of Drama Director. Prior to coming to Weston, Ms.Isaacs spent eight years teaching various Theater, Film, and Speech classes at Westborough High School, where she also directed the co-curricular theater company, Center Stage. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Theater and English Literature from Colgate University, as well as a Master’s of Arts in Theater Education from Emerson College. Outside of school, Ms.Isaacs participates as a board member for Weston Drama Workshop, a summer theater program for students ages 9 to 23.

Extend Halloween and meet The Addams Family when Weston High School Theater Company performs this ghoulish musical comedy Thursday, November 17 – 19th 2022. See how the Addams’ kooky, upside-down world is tested when daughter Wednesday introduces her new “normal” boyfriend to the family.

The WHS Theater Company had a very successful day at the state Drama Festival on March 19, 2022 at Wayland High School.

Congratulations are in order for our full company, and particularly to our students who received All-Star Awards:
All-Star Acting Awards went to Alex Muzila, Lanz Perez-Kudzma, Abe Smith, and Amber Taylor. 
In addition, our sound board operator, Mackenzie Morong was recognized with an All-Star Award for Technical Excellence.
Lastly, as a full company, T.Co was recognized with the Stage Manager’s Award, which is bestowed on the company that the host school determines was the most prepared for their technical rehearsal, and also best embraced the spirit of the Festival Day.

dark of the moon posterThe Weston High Theater Company, and its new drama director Anne Slotnick, begin the 2018-2019 season with Dark of the Moon, a dark folktale from the Appalachian region, by authors Howard Richardson and William Berney. The play takes place in a rural town in the Appalachian valley in 1930. It is the story of the beautiful Barbara Allen and the witch-boy, John, with whom she falls in love. The Witch culture and the Townsfolk culture are forever at odds, with a long history of deep seeded resentment and prejudice. The love between Barbara and John exasperates this, and though their love story thrives for a time, it ultimately ends in tragedy
