COVID-19 Updates
The following communications were each shared on Monday, 5/9/22

Dear Weston School Community,
We want to thank you as always for your ongoing support as we begin to close out the 2021-22 school year. As spring goes on, and we continue to shift from pandemic to endemic management of COVID-19, we expect to see fluxuations in viral severity, case rates, hospitalizations, and more.
Over the past several weeks we have experienced another increase in case rates on both the town and school side. While transmission continues to occur primarily in the home or at social gatherings, we continue to strongly recommend that people mask in school during periods of higher case rates, and at all times for those who are at higher risk of severe illness.
We will continue with mitigating factors such as masking, distancing, testing, and remaining home when sick all combined, to protect not only ourselves but the larger community. Free pooled PCR tests remain available weekly, and free rapid tests are still available through June.
In addition to recommending masking indoors, we also continue to strongly encourage vaccination and regular testing via the public schools or Board of Health’s testing programs. As a reminder, masks (paper commercial, KN95, or N95) are available at all schools upon request.
Thank you again for your continued vigilance and care for the schools and broader community.
Sincerely,
Dr. Midge Connolly, Superintendent of Schools
Jamy Gaynor, Director of Health Services
