Dear Woodland School families,

Welcome to week 4! We hope you had a wonderful weekend. Please find helpful information and important dates for the upcoming week.

Back to School Night: Back to School night is coming up this Thursday, September 22. Please note that Back to School Night is an adult only event so that parents and guardians can focus their attention on learning all about their student’s classroom experience. There is parking available at Woodland School, Field School or Country School.

6:00-6:40pm Preschool/K/G1 teachers presenting in the classrooms

Get Ready to Preview the WEEFC Fall Fundraiser Auction Catalog!

With just under two weeks to go, we’re excited to share the program of live and silent auction items later this week.  Please Stay Tuned! Not attending the event? Click “sign-in” in the upper right-hand corner of the event website to register as a non-attendee. This will allow you to bid remotely on silent auction items and/or be assigned a proxy bidder for live items. Bidding opens for the silent auction on Monday, September 26, at 10am.

Parents Night Out! Book your babysitters! Save the date to come gather with fellow Woodland parents at our upcoming Parent Community Night Out – Wednesday, October 19th from 6-9pm at Lookout Farm in Natick. $25pp will go towards appetizers and drink tickets. Thank you to the Mofenson Family for hosting! Funding available to cover ticket prices if needed – please reach out to Emily Malenfant.

Woodland School Council Opening: Woodland School has 1 open seat for a 2 year term open for School Council and we need your help! This is an important and exciting opportunity for parents to get involved! Every public school in the state is required by law to have a School Council made up of various representatives, including elected parents to assist in adopting educational goals for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide student performance standards, identifying the educational needs of students attending the school, reviewing the annual school building budget, and formulating a school improvement plan. The school council meets several times during the school year as a group to discuss these topics.

If you are interested in running for School Council, please send a candidate statement to Meghan Covington – meghancovington@gmail.com by October 4. In your candidate statement please include information such as:

  • Your name

  • Where your children are in school

  • Other volunteer commitments

  • Other work experience

  • Other community involvements

  • Why you are interested in School Council and what contribution you can make

School Council Elections will run from October 11th to October 14th.

Woodland Website: In addition to the Woodlandwolves instagram, Woodland School also has its own website!  For lunch menus, updates and schedules, this is a great resource. https://www.westonschools.org/woodland/

Weston Elementary Tee Shirts: This year, the PTO is selling Weston Elementary tee-shirts that bring together all three elementary schools, with a map of Case Campus on the back. They are heather grey, and sizes are unisex (they do run slightly small). We have both youth and adult sizes available (except we are sold out of youth small and have limited youth mediums remaining). The cost is $25 per shirt, and you can order them here. Please Venmo @Jessica-Grasshoff or email jessiegrasshoff@gmail.com for other payment options.

If you haven’t already, don’t forget to join or renew your PTO membership.  PTO members have access to the online directory through Membership Toolkit. There’s also a Membership Toolkit app that you can download to your device for access on the go.

Have a great week!

Best,

Meghan Covington & Emily Malenfant
