WS PTO Update

Dear Woodland Families,

Thank you to all of you that attended or volunteered at the Global Diversity Fair last week. It was so wonderful to see such a great turnout from our Weston Community. If you have not already done so, please visit our instagram page to see photos from the evening!

As Valentine’s Day approaches, we wanted to say a special Happy Valentine’s Day to our teachers and staff by stocking the lounge with lots of yummy treats. If you would like to participate, either by donating goodies or volunteering to set up the space, please check out the signup genius.

We have an exciting volunteer opportunity for next year! If you have any interest in the Woodland School co-chair position for next school year, please reach out to Meghan Covington & Emily Malenfant. We are happy to meet and chat with anyone who is interested in learning about what this position entails. There are so many great aspects to being a school chair! It is a great way to get more involved with the faculty, staff and other parent volunteers. As school chair, you have a unique opportunity to work closely with Mr. Dimen and plan amazing community events. We also work very closely with the other elementary school chairs to plan these events and appreciations, making it much more fun and easy!

Earn prizes by completing various coding games and challenges!  No coding experience necessary.  Children are required to be accompanied by an adult.  More details to come as the date approaches.

The PTO STEM Council is looking for volunteers to help set-up/break-down the event and facilitate moving children through the various activity tables.  Volunteer roles will vary from “no coding experience” to “some coding experience” required.  Please sign up at here if interested or email Alison King alli.k.king@gmail.com,  Mark McKnight mark.edwin.mcknight@gmail.com, BJ Grattan bjgrattan@gmail.com, or Stephanie Mazitschek stephanie.wiessner@gmail.com.

Administrators, teachers and parents will present information about the Weston Kindergarten program. During this event, they will also share the registration and screening process and give detailed information about online sign-ups. The forum will be from 6:30-7:30pm in the Country School Cafetorium. If you know any incoming Kindergarteners, please help us spread the word!
