WS PTO Grade 3 Announcements

Dear Third Grade Families,

Sorry for the double email although you all get your own email this week! It is hard to believe the time has come for our third graders to move on to Field School. And while the emotions may be running high for both the students, and for us, it is such an exciting time for everyone. Woodland is a special place and will be hard to leave. But Field School is an incredible new home for them and they are going to love it!

We will be celebrating this transition with a 3rd Grade Family Picnic on Thursday, June 8 from 5-7pm. Please bring a nut-free picnic dinner for your family. Country and Woodland School 3rd graders will join together on the Field School Playground. We will have our talented Weston parent, Emily Barker, there to take photographs and run a “photo booth.” These pictures will be shared with families after the event.

We also have our amazing yearbooks, thanks to our fantastic Woodland Yearbook Committee: Katie Daunis, Nicole Lee, Rebecca Sommers and Anna Dvinsky. This was an incredible task so we want to be sure to give them a huge thank you! These books are amazing keepsakes for our third graders and they are going to cherish them. We will be handing out the yearbooks and t-shirts at the picnic. If you cannot attend, we will drop off the remaining yearbooks at school on Friday to be sent home with your child.

On the last day of school, there is a Third Grade Clap-Out prior to dismissal at 10:30. Parents will form a viewing and applause line under the awning in front of the school along the rockwall (facing the school), and down the ramp if needed. At 10:35am, Grade 3 students will make their way through the K wing and exit out the K wing doors. Each Grade 3 student will then proceed to walk through the courtyard pathway with applause from the crowd. They will continue on to the G1/G3 entrance pathway and enter through the CCW/G3 entrance and back to their classroom for dismissal. All lines will need to disperse by 10:50am for dismissal. Please park in the lot, the pool lot, or overflow parking at Country School. Please do not park in the traffic circle so dismissal can begin promptly at 11:00am that day. Please bring yourselves and your smiles, and perhaps a bubble wand for a festive send off. However, please do not bring noise makers or signs. Younger siblings must stay with their classrooms until dismissal. If rain is in the forecast that day, there will be alternate plans.
