WS PTO Update
Hello, Woodland School Families! We hope you are enjoying these last days of summer and are excited about a great school year ahead! It is hard to believe it is that time again. We are Emily Malenfant and Alexi DiCosola, the PTO Co-Chairs for Woodland School, and we want to welcome you and update you on some helpful back-to-school information. We know this is a lot of information, but we hope it will help ease the transition! Mrs. Dickerson and the Woodland School faculty and staff are hard at work preparing to welcome new and returning families to our school community. Classroom assignments were emailed out last week, and they are also available in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Teachers will reach out with specific classroom information. Room Parents will be creating and distributing class lists over the next few weeks. To help streamline this process, please fill out the appropriate form below (one for each child). We hope you are as excited as we are for the year ahead! We plan to be in touch weekly during the year to update families on the latest Woodland School announcements. For more school updates, please subscribe to the Woodland School calendar and sign up or renew your PTO membership to access online directories, receive regular updates on what’s happening, and more. Membership info is below. And please follow us on Instagram @WestonWoodlandWolves for school-related photos and information! Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, ideas or interest in volunteering at Woodland School. We love hearing from you! PTO is in the process of updating our distribution lists, so please let us know of any issues, such as a spouse who still needs to receive our communications. Thanks for your patience as we get up and running for this school year. See you all soon for the first day of school! A LITTLE ABOUT US: Emily Malenfant I have lived in Weston for the past seven years with my husband, Jon, and two children. Jack is entering the 4th grade at Field School and Audrey is entering the 2nd grade at Woodland School. I am excited to get to know you all this year and to work to build a strong Woodland community! This is my second year as co-chair of the Woodland PTO and I look forward to meeting / getting to know you throughout the year. Alexi DiCosola I have lived in Weston for nine years with my husband, Michael, and our son Vincenzo. Vincenzo is entering the second grade at Woodland School. This is my first year as the co-chair for Woodland PTO and I look forward to meeting more families and to supporting the school community. WPS AMBASSADOR PROGRAM: New to the Weston Public Schools? If you are new to the Weston Public Schools and would like to be connected with a current Woodland School family with similarly aged children who can help you with your big and small questions about school, after school activities, and anything in-between, please sign-up here and we will pair you with a Weston Welcome Ambassador. For those in the METCO program who are new to the Weston Public Schools, this program is in addition to the Family Friends program, so please reach out to Kirstin, Binbin and Lisa who will connect you with both a Weston-based family and a Boston-based family. Weston Welcome Ambassadors – SIGN-UP When your family first started in the Weston Public Schools, did you wish you could reach out to a current parent to ask your big and small school-related questions, get advice on where to find certain activities for your kids or how to get involved in the schools and/or town? If you would like to help welcome a new family to Woodland School, please consider becoming a Weston Welcome Ambassador. It is fun, impactful and strengthens our wonderful community! If interested, please sign-up here. JOIN THE PTO: PTO membership provides parents and guardians the opportunity to express interest in helping out with a variety of events which happen throughout the school year. PTO membership does not require volunteer time, but the hope is that all families in the District will choose to join or renew their membership to support the work the PTO does in our schools on behalf of our children, faculty, staff, administration, and you, our parents and guardians! Your PTO membership also offers access to an online directory so you can connect with other families in your child(ren)’s school(s). PTO membership also keeps you more informed about special events, volunteer opportunities, or other important information to keep you up-to-speed on what’s happening! If you have any questions about membership, or your current membership status, please contact the PTO’s Membership Co-Chairs Theresa Nibi and Jaclyn McDonald.
