Astronomy Night 2026 is October 27th, from 6:30 – 8:30
The annual Astronomy Night event is back this year and promises to be the best yet! On the evening of Tuesday, October 27th join us in the Weston High School Science Wing, and on the softball field immediately outside the building, for an evening of interstellar fun and education.
The event kicks off at 6:30 PM in the GEC with a brief talk delivered by Talia Sepersky of the Boston Museum of Science Charles Hayden Planetarium who will be discussing the possibility of life in remote parts of our solar system and beyond, including in some unexpected forms and in places you would least expect. Immediately afterwards, there will be viewing of the night sky out on the softball field with guests from local amateur astronomy clubs and, new this year, professional astronomers from Harvard University. Inside the high school there will be an inflatable planetarium, astronomy-themed activities for various ages, and hot chocolate and snacks. Dress warmly and prepare to be amazed!
This event is sponsored by the PTO and the WHS Science Department. All K-12 students and their families are welcome, as are local community members.
