August 18, 2017 Field #1 was ready for the beginning of fall High School sports. The old carpet was removed, base material regraded. New shock pad was installed and new carpet with inlaid lines has been installed. The final work was to finish the sports lines, add the infill material, and secure the new carpet.
The old field and related equipment was removed in early June 2017. Site work continues with the installation of drainage, field lights, net pole bases, new concrete pad for visitors bleachers, and track and field structures. The new concession/bathroom building went forward on schedule. In the Spring of 2021, the school committee approved free, precautionary repairs to be made to Proctor Field.
